About
A focused Swiss soaring company
High-performance sailplanes, Alpine flights, precision equipment and specialist knowledge — from one team.
Swiss Sailplane combines aircraft sales, Stemme Alpine flights, specialist equipment and knowledge in a single, focused operation.
Yves Gerster and Remy Hirt founded Swiss Sailplane in 2019 with a clear goal: to bring top-tier flying equipment to Switzerland — for sale and for rent — and to advance cross-country soaring.
We value precision and honesty over hype. What we say about aircraft, flights and products is meant to be accurate and supportable — because we fly, maintain and sell all of it ourselves.

The people behind Swiss Sailplane
Two of the most accomplished glider pilots in Switzerland. We fly, maintain and sell what we talk about — and we love passing it on, from corporate days and talks to cross-country courses and training flights.

Yves Gerster
Founder
Started gliding at 15 and was hooked at once — what draws him most is reaching new terrain and competition flying. He founded Swiss Sailplane in 2019; today he looks after JS sailplane sales, flies the Stemme Alpine experiences and runs the operation.

Remy Hirt
Co-founder · Flight instructor · Head of maintenance
Built and flew model aircraft as a child and never let go — he earned his glider licence at 16. A strong cross-country pilot who also flies aerobatics. As co-founder he is our flight instructor and head of maintenance, and the lead developer of our own equipment, the Aquator and the Compact Charger.

- Competition wins: Swiss Championship · Rieti · RM Bex
- Licences: glider · flight instructor · aerobatics · Part-66 maintenance
From our own flying
We fly, maintain and sell what we talk about — Alpine soaring from daily operation, not from a brochure.
Precision in the detail
High-performance sailplanes and equipment don't forgive shortcuts. The same care goes into advice, data and handling.
Honest advice
Clear answers about aircraft, flights and products — even when the honest answer is “not the right fit for you”.
